Do I have to be a member to get married at Shepherd?
No
Members and non-members are invited to hold their wedding ceremony at Shepherd of the Hills.
How do I schedule a wedding at Shepherd?
Step 1
Call the church office and speak to Nancy to
find out if the date you desire is available.
Step 2
Then What?
Step 3
You will be assigned a Wedding Coordinator who will contact you within two weeks of receiving your completed
"Wedding Date Request Form".
Step 4
The Wedding Coordinator will continue to work with you by providing information and organizational support
and presence throughout the planning period, rehearsal and wedding.
How many people does your sanctuary seat?
Approximately 450 people.
We have a Pastor that we would like to use, can we bring our own Pastor?
We welcome your guest pastor to share in your special day. However, it is mandatory that our presiding
pastor take the lead, and will be involved in determining what role the guest pastor will play in the ceremony. The
final decision will be made by our pastor.
Are all couples required to take the "Prepare Pre-Marital Inventory" counseling?
Yes, after it is evaluated the couple will then go over the results with the presiding Pastor. In
rare instances we will alow counseling from another Pastor if you have prior permission from Shepherd's presiding Pastor.
You will then be required to submit a written statement from the Pastor who provided the counseling giving a summary of what
this entailed.
My aunt plays the piano and we would like her to play at our wedding, do you allow this?
It is REQUIRED that you use Shepherd's pianist/organist. The use of a guest musician is up to the
Pastor's discretion.
What time of day can we schedule our wedding ceremony?
Generally, Saturday weddings are scheduled between
the hours of 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. We will, however, try to accommodate
any time you request if it is available.
Do you allow receptions at your church?
The Fellowship Hall is usually available for wedding receptions. If you wish to use the facilities
for your reception, you should request this when you reserve the day for your wedding. Our fellowship space can seat
over 200 guests. With the limitations of our kitchen, it is recommended that any meal be catered.
