Shepherd of the Hills Preschool is an outreach ministry of Shepherd of the Hills Evangelical Lutheran Church, who's Mission Statement is to reach, ignite and empower people for Jesus.

At Shepherd, we believe each child is a unique individual, with different interests and abilities, created by God as part of His plan. Through preschool education, we hope to give children and their families the opportunity to recognize and appreciate their uniqueness and their role as members of the family of God.

Shepherd offers a variety of classroom scheduling options to accommodate the varying needs and schedules of children and their families. Specific projects and activities may vary from class to class but the same theme, objectives and goals are carried through consistently.

Our Tuesday-Thursday afternoon class offers a multi-aged group setting. Lesson preparation and art activities are adjusted to meet the appropriate developmental level of the current student enrollment. For example, some children may need the use of name cards and teacher assistance to print their name, while others who have mastered printing their first names would be encouraged to print their last name. In art, we may provide pre-cut pieces as well as pieces to be cut to allow children with various abilities to feel successful. Group experiences and learning opportunities are planned to include and involve all students in the classroom.

We will accept children from 33 months of age to 5 years old. All children must be potty trained before school begins.

The preschool is licensed for three, four, and five year old classes with a capacity of 20 children with two adults per class. The preschool has been operating since fall 1997.

M-W-F ... 4 & 5 year olds
T-Th ... 3 year olds

Afternoon Classes
12:30 - 3:00 p.m.
T-Th ... 3 & 4 year olds

Registration Fee
$45 Registration Fee (non-refundable)

Tuition 2008-2009
2 days/week: $100.00/month ($900)
3 days/week: $125.00/month ($1125)

Adventure Day, Wednesday
12:30-3:00 p.m., 3 yr - 5 Kindergarten
$15.00 Registration, $14.00 per class

Activity Fees
$35 Activity Fee (2 days per week program)
$50 Activity Fee (3 day per week program)
This one-time Activity Fee allows us to secure a park shelter for the spring family picnic. This fee is also used for holiday parties or any special guest invited to our program. The field trip expenses for the M-W-F class are also taken from this fund.
